Mac miller

Mac Miller is a rapper from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who is also known for his work in The Ill Spoken group. Miller is a self-taught musician, who plays piano, guitar and the drums as well as rapping. In 2009, he released his mixtape The High Life as well as his own preview album, The Jukebox, which is the predecessor to his upcoming Class Clown album. His music is great and I think that he sets himself apart from other rappers.

Woodstock

History was not only recreated, but also significantly enhanced, on August 12, 13, and 14 at the Woodstock 1994 festival held in Saugerties, NY. 30+ bands: every single one played their hearts out and put on great performances. The movie is a bit long and kind of boring but it was a very historical event.

Trans Siberian orchestra

The trans Siberian orchestra is one of the most innovative and awesome orchestras that you can go see today. I'm getting an opportunity to go see them this winter break and I can't wait. There music and sounds are incredible. I'm super pumped to go see them and I'm sure it'll be one of the most fun concerts I've been to.

Johnny cash

Johnny Cash – the man, the artist, the legend – might be the ultimate paradox, a barrel of incongruities that seems to be driven by unsolvable conflicts that always set him apart from the flock, who never entirely dismissed him. I enjoy his music and voice for the most part there are some songs that are kind of in pleasing but yeah he's good.

The sun and the moon

"The Sun and the Moon Complete" is an excellent double-disc album, featuring catchy beats and words filled with terrific angst from the lead vocalist - it's gonna be hard to hate if you enjoy what you hear from the very first track. The Bravery is an American based rock band from New York City (see Emanuel and the Fear). They've currently been active for 7 years and have released 3 albums for Island Records within that time. I enjoy listening to these guys and it almost make me want to sleep but like in a good way if you know what I mean.

Beatles White album

You could say that this album, with the quantity and range of songs it offers, provides something for everyone. I think a better way of looking at it is that it provides everything for someone. It may not be as consistent (or safe) as some of their other work, but over the course of two albums it provides a listening experience unparalleled in the history of popular music. I think this album has alot to offer to the listeners and I personally enjoyed myself listening to this album.

Willie Nelson

He is a national icon in the country music world. His uncanny talent and love for his music is why so many people love him so much. I personally do enjoy his music, I think he has a great voice. He has his own kind of swag. Nelson has been a fixture of the American music scene for as long as any living and touring musician, making his recorded debut in 1956. Willie Nelson has been in an inspiration to artists everywhere. He really doesnt give a shit and thats something that I love about him.

make up blog

Tim Mcgraw is a globally renowned country music artist, actor and all-round gentleman. Widely regarded as being one of the most popular country singers in the world today, McGraw also boasts a hugely successful career with an astonishing eleven of his albums debuting at number one in the United States charts. Aside from that, McGraw has sold over 40 million albums worldwide. He is also regularly featured in the news as being a celebrity couple with his wife, Faith Hill. I enjoy his musci because he is inspirational and all around a great country artist.

eptic

Eptic is kind of an unknown dupstep artist than is making his rise. His music is unlike any other and i love it. His tracks have already garnered the support of artists like Doctor P, Bare Noize, Modestep, and Tomba. Brown & Gammon recently played a set on BBC’s 1Xtra and dropped Mayhem, one of the best tracks off the fresh Eptic EP. Needless to say, many big names in the scene want a piece of Eptic.

jimi hendrix

In his brief four-year reign as a superstar, Jimi Hendrix expanded the vocabulary of the electric rock guitar more than anyone before or since. Hendrix was a master at coaxing all manner of unforeseen sonics from his instrument, often with innovative amplification experiments that produced astral-quality feedback and roaring distortion. His frequent hurricane blasts of noise and dazzling showmanship -- he could and would play behind his back and with his teeth and set his guitar on fire -- has sometimes obscured his considerable gifts as a songwriter, singer, and master of a gamut of blues, R&B, and rock styles.

notorious

Mammoth-sized rapper (6 feet 3 inches and close to 300 pounds) the Notorious B.I.G., alternately known as Biggie Smalls but born Christopher Wallace, released just one album during his lifetime: 1994's Ready to Die. Written by Wallace and produced by Sean Combs, it was a remarkable debut, distinguished by Wallace's thick, commanding baritone and his slow, matter-of-fact rhymes about the hustler's life he left behind for rap. Wallace would not attain true iconic status until after his murder, on March 9, 1997. I personally am not a huge fan of his music but i give him respect for being such a legend.

big gigantic

Big gigacnitc is an innovative band that uses drum and bass mix with a saxophone. I got to see them at acl and it was an amazing show. one of the best shows I have ever been to. They are not a well known band and they have suprised alot of people including myself. They just have this vibe they bring to concerts that makes you want to dance and get into the music.

rubbersoul

Rubber Soul is an undeniable pivot point in the Fab Four's varied discography no matter where, or how, you first heard it. The album was softened up in its original 12-song American edition to jibe with the Dylan/Byrds folk-rock sound, as well as squeeze money from the Parlophone catalog. It is one of there best albums in my opinion by far.

help

Help is a very interesting movie. It is really goofy and stupid but it would be the beatles if it was goofy and stupid. They incorporated the music very well into the movie though. It was interesting to say the least but i guess at least they had a plot a beginning middle and end.

acl

Iam excited for acl, one day down two to go. Friday was fun I saw ben howard, atrax, m83, and avicii. All have great music and i had a blast even though i passed out at avicii. I cant wait for saturday and sunday going to great.

The Beatles

The beatles have been a very influential band for many decades. As I learned in the video we watched this week, "Hard Day's Night" was a very interesting video about the day in the life of the famous band. I have experienced a lot of their music and they seem like up-beat, energetic people. It's interesting to see the life of these men that are a true "rags to riches" story.

Eminem

Eminem is an inspiring rapper who went through many struggles to get to were he is today. I liked his old music but his new stuff kinda sucks. He is one of the select few white rappers to become a big hit. He was one of the first too. Enimen has undeniable talent and i have respect for him being on of the select few white rappers to become so famous.

the who

I personally am not a huge fan of the who. I think they have great talent and musicianship but I just don't enjoy listening to them. I also think they tried to maybe 1 up some of those other popular bands of the day and they just couldn't do it. I feel like they even tried to copy some of the stuff from those bands. In my opinion I don't like listening to them and their music isn't appealing to me.

Is the radio dead?

Do you think any really listens to the radio anymore? With modern technology I feel like the radio will be a thing of the past in maybe 5-10 years. I think that talk shows and stuff like that might stay around but the music in general. Who honestly still listens to the radio. But surprisely almost 80 percent of people still listen to the radio on a daily basis. Maybe I am just being ignorant but most kids I talk to don't listen to radio. It's interesting to me to think about that and what might happen to radio or TV when I'm older.

make up blog 2

i love listening to remixs its cool to me to have someone take a song and revise to make it sound better. It might not always sound better but its different and sounds cool. Weither it be a rap remix or dupstep remix they all sound awesome to me for some reason. I enjoy them alot so heres an example.

make up blog 1

I don't really like how genres of music are combined with personalities of people. Can someone not like a certain genre without being associated with the outside appearance. Such as if you like metal most people would believe your a punk or someone that is bad. I think its stupid that it is the way it is but i guess that's just society today. Just because i like a certain genre doesn't necessarily mean I'm associated with "those people" i guess you could say.

kid cudi

Kid cudi is an awesome artist and producer. His songs have passion and inspiration in all of them. his music is one of my favorite and i like it because it pumps me up and gets me going. Before a basketball game or any sporting event I love it listen to him to give me some confidence and pump me up for the game to come.

beetles

The Beetles are an inspirational group of people that achieved a lot in there life time. I enjoyed watching there documentary. I especially like ringo, he's a great drummer and even cooler person. The girls went nuts for them and they pissed their pants. They are just normal guys that achieved greatest and have fun doing what they do and I like that about them. They love to have fun and mess around. The beetles are a legendary group of people and they will go down in history.

drake

Drake's Take Care album was probably his best album. He has the perfect mix of rap and R&B that cannot be matched. They complement each other very well. All of his beats are pretty unique and have a different sound than most other rappers. What makes Drake one of the best rappers is his honesty in his songs and how he tells a story through his raps connecting it all while still maintaining good rhythm and flow.

Beetles

The beetles have a remarkable story and background. They have so much talent and I have respect for what they have done. My favorite song has to be twist and shout because its just an amazing song and in that time it was one of the best. The amount of good vocalist they have in the beetles is unbelievable. Their story is very interesting too. How they met and came together. How they were performing at such a young age etc..

wub wub

Earlier this week I was listening to some Rusko and the music was awesome. The bass gets your heart going and your blood pumping. It is enjoyable to listen to and I enjoy it a lot. I'm not crazy about music and don't listen to it very often like most do but when I do I like to listen to some Dub. Yes that was a dos equis joke, I'm that awesome. Anyways it relieved me of some stress from the day and It helps alot when I'm ever feeling overwhelmed with something.

Elvis Presley Blog

Listening to Elvis in class made me think about how music moved people in his time. He changd the game. His music and dancing made girls scream at the top of their lungs. No one had ever seen this before. Its good to listen to the start of the revolution of rock and roll. He inspired many people through his music and was a crazy character. Listening to him in class makes me wonder how can so many people go so crazy over one person. Its funny to me how everyone had a hardon for Elvis in his era.
